Introduction To Silverhills Lowline Cattle
Silverhills Lowline Cattle began with the purchase of a Lowline heifer from Saskatchewan. Princess was born on October 8, 1998. She is the second calf, and the first heifer in North America to be born to its' natural mother. Her British Columbian debut in the fall of '99 was an absolute success as have all the showings of all our cattle to date. Princess can be found at home, grazing to her heart's content with her offspring and relations, on our small farm in the scenic Mabel Lake valley, north of Lumby, BC.
We, at Silverhills Lowline, are excited about the potential of Lowlines in the beef industry.
Embryos from Princess and our other females are available as well as top of the line semen from one of our handsome bulls. Live animals are now available for purchase. Since acquiring Princess, we have expanded our herd to include serogate females, a successful embryo program as well as several live births of heifers and bulls. After 9 years of fun and learning and hard work, we are proud to announce we have 20 on the hoof and now we have family packages of beef available locally in limited quantity.
We Now Have Animals For Sale!!
With our program being such a success of the past few years, we have come to a position where we now have live animals for sale. Here is the animals for sale list to include heifers, breed cows, bull calfs and so on so please keep posted for what we have available! Remember, our cattle stand out...just a little.
All the animals mentioned are Full Blood, DNA registered with The Canadian Livestock Records Corp. in Ottawa. The animal pedigrees we have obtained are listed below. Just click on any animal's name that is underlined to access the pedigree which will open in a new window.
We also have semen available from our bull "Studley" for $50/straw plus shipping. He won Reserve Senior Bull and Reserve Grand Champion Breed Bull at Farmfair in Edmonton this fall in Lowline competitions. He is a great looking bull with very gentle manners. He is a proven working bull that throws solid calves.
There will also be more calves coming in the spring that would be available for possession next fall.

In close attendance you will find us, Laurie and Kevin, managers and caregivers. Both of us have found this business adventure to be exciting, rewarding and a lot less challenging than we had anticipated. We have come to know each animal, the temperment and breeding prospects. We are extremely pleased with our results so far. We are often found at agricultural events across Canada promoting public and rancher awareness of this unique and extremely viable product. We are proud to be a member of The Canadian Lowline Cattle Association.
