Lowline cattle are the wonderful result of a selective breeding program at the Trangie Research Station in New South Wales, Australia. Since being made available to the cattle industry in 1992, the breed line has done exceedingly well. Everywhere we go, there has been extreme interest and excitement about our cattle. The mere size and demeanor stupifies even the most seasoned rancher. Lowline cattle look like little cows yet their maintenance and return for the effort far excels in cost efficiency. Lowline cattle were introduced to North America in 1996, when six cows were placed in an embryo transfer program in Calgary, Alberta. Currently, breeding programs are ongoing in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, and the United States.
